VEC Community Fund Supports Richford Sign, Skating Rink Fence

Vermont Electric Co-op Files for 2022 Rates

Vermont Electric Co-op (VEC) today filed a request with the Vermont Public Utility Commission for a rate increase of 1.96 percent to take effect at the beginning of 2022. When implemented, a residential customer with a bill of $100/month would see their bill increase $1.96 per month, or $23.52 per year.

Vermont Electric Cooperative powers up two new solar arrays in Jericho in support of 100 percent renewables by 2030

Jericho, VT — Encore Renewable Energy and Vermont Electric Cooperative announced today the commissioning of two new community scale solar projects comprising 4.5 megawatts (MW) of new, clean energy generation in Jericho. The two new solar arrays include a 2.3MW project on the town’s former gravel pit (photo above left) and a 2.2MW project on the former municipal landfill (photo above right).

Johnson, VT - For the third year in a row, Vermont Electric Co-op (VEC) has received the prestigious Cigna Well-Being Award from the insurance company Cigna. VEC issuing ‘Last Call’ for Vermont COVID Arrearage Assistance Program

Johnson, Vt – Vermont Electric Co-operative (VEC) is urging members to act immediately if they need financial assistance from the Vermont COVID Arrearage Assistance Program (VCAAP II) for past due utility bills. “This is basically last call,” said VEC Member Services Manager Sue Bernier. “To all our members who have suffered pandemic-related economic hardship and have past due accounts, we have one message: please act now! The electric disconnection moratorium has ended and the assistance program will end October 24 or even sooner if funds run out, so time is of the essence,” Bernier said.

VEC Asking Members to Trim Electricity Use Tomorrow and Wednesday

Johnson, VT- Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) is encouraging members to conserve electricity tomorrow evening (Tuesday) and Wednesday evening as demand for electricity across New England is expected to spike because of high temperatures. Specifically, VEC asks members to conserve electricity both evenings from 5-9 pm. That’s when demand is expected to be highest.

VEC Community Fund Supports North Central Vermont Recovery Center

Johnson, Vt – Community Fund of the Vermont Electric Co-op (VEC) recently awarded a grant to the North Central Vermont Recovery Center to support recovery coaching. The $750 grant will support stipends and training for the organization’s coaching program, which provides one-on-one support from trained peer-professionals for people in recovery. Coaching includes resource navigation, employment, housing, and transportation support, motivational interviewing, and other guidance.
