Johnson, VT – Some Vermont Electric Co-op members may be without power into tomorrow as crews continue to assess and repair damage after a big slug of heavy, wet snow blanketed the region last night.

“These outages are widespread and because field conditions are tough, restoration for some areas is taking time,” said Jake Brown, VEC Energy Services Planner. VEC members who still do not have power this evening and do not have an Estimated Time of Restoration assigned to their service should expect to not have power overnight and should plan accordingly.

People who need a warm place to go can inquire with their local community or call 2-1-1 for more information. Local emergency contacts can be found here: https://vem.vermont.gov/programs/emd/contact

Since the outages began rolling in early this morning, crews have restored power to more than 11,000 members. As of this afternoon, about 2,400 members remained without power. VEC has brought in additional mutual aid crews, including several from New Hampshire Electric Co-op, to help restore power.
