Utility Pole Reinforcement Work
VEC is working with a contractor to reinforce select utility poles in several communities in our service territory. Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks and continue for approximately two weeks.
No power outages are expected.This work is not expected to interrupt members' electric service.
Towns Where Work is Planned
Select utility poles in the following towns are included in this project:
- Alburg
- Derby
- Fairfax
- Fairfield
- Fletcher
- Grand Isle
- Highgate
- Isle La Motte
- Lowell
- North Hero
- Westfield
- Westford
Reinforcing Existing Poles
The work involves installing a truss alongside certain existing utility poles to reinforce and extend the useful life of the pole.
